Dec 7 – Festive & Bright Christmas

Dies Week continues with Festive & Bright bundle and highlights the Christmas stamps and dies in the bundle. If this has been on your list to order, now’s the time. This bundle in the Mini Catalog is retiring and right now the dies are 50% off! It has stamps and dies that work for Fall and Christmas. See my blog post on October 26th for a look at the bundle and some Halloween projects:

Here’s a project using the evergreen bough and Christmas bulbs, along with the label die in the set:

These two projects use the tree lights border stamp and corresponding festive border die, as well as the label die from the set:

This card also uses the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder

Aren’t these great? I love the tree light bough border stamp–it is so pretty and can be used for lots of things during the Christmas season. I could also see this border stamp and the matching dies for gift tags too!

The Festive Finishes Dies are currently 50% off in the Last Chance sale. So if you have had this bundle on your wish list, now’s the time to order. Do not order it as a bundle, it will be cheaper to order the stamp set and dies separately so you can get the 50% discount off the dies. Visit my Online Store and place your order tomorrow, December 8th – Stampin’ Up! is having free shipping for orders over $50!

Happy Stampin! Kelly

Dec 6 – Peaceful Cabin Dies

Today’s projects use the Peaceful Cabin dies. I have a bunch of Peaceful Cabin projects to showcase throughout the month this month, and seeing as it’s “Dies Week” I wanted to be sure to show these dies in action.

CABIN DIES

The first two cards use the Snowy Velvet Specialty Paper, along with the Cabin shadow die (card on top) and detail die (card on the bottom.) Both cards also use tree outline border die, and the card on the top also uses the fox outline border die.

On the card below, I used the tree outline border die to create a “fun fold” card:

To make this card above, simply use a Basic White card base cut 11″ x 4 1/4″, score and fold in half. Stamp the trees in Shaded Spruce on the card front, open the card back up and run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine using the tree shadow border die to cut out the trees and create the little half door fold.

All three cards also use the Peaceful Place DSP – which is currently unavailable for ordering, but should be back in inventory by Dec 10th.

Happy Stamping! Kelly

Dec 5 – CTCS Painted Christmas meet pg 113 (AC)

Happy day 5 folks! 20 more days ’til Christmas and the Christmas prep is underway in my house. Today’s Case The Catalog Sunday was based on a challenge from last week’s CASEing the Catty group where we were to CASE a non-Christmas card and give it a Christmas twist. I chose the Painted Christmas suite of products, and this card on page 113 of the Annual Catalog:

And, here’s my CASE’d Christmas version:

Love our new In-Colors Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent, and with the pop of gold – it’s so natural an pretty! Instead of using regular vellum like the sample card on page 113, I opted for the In-Color Shimmer Vellum in Soft Succulent. The photo doesn’t due it justice, but I love the extra glimmer!

This week’s countdown posts will features projects that use our amazing die sets. Be sure to subscribe to my blog or follow me on social media so you don’t miss a project

Dec 4 – Be Jolly Coloring Card

Day 4 of December and today I’m sharing a project that is perfect for the little people in your life! The Be Jolly Coloring Card is a simple project that you can give out to neighbor kids, coworker kids, or even as random acts of kindness.

The Santa is intentionally left black and white and the child receiving the card can use the crayons to color. Super simple, quick, and fun!

Happy stamping! Kelly

Dec 3 – Fun Fold Friday with Peaceful Place

Today’s Fun Fold we’re working with the Peaceful Place Suite again. A fellow Demonstrator of mine taught me this fold called a Tri-Panel Card.

Card Front
Opened Once
Opened twice to show the inside

Isn’t this gorgeous? I had a thought to make this a holiday card and swap add our family photo. Maybe I’ll make a few of those for very special folks.

Tutorial:

  • Cardstock:
    • Card Base: 8-1/2 x 11, scored at 5-1/2 on the long side and 4-1/4 on the short side, cut away the bottom, left quarter of the card stock.
    • White/Vanilla:
      • approx. 3-1/4 x 4-1/2 rectangle + die
      • approx. 2-1/2 x 3-3/4 rectangle + die
      • approx. 2 x 3 rectangle
  • Designer Series Paper: 4 each @ 4 TALL x 5-1/4 WIDE (if you are working with a directional pattern)
  • Die Cuts OR Punched Items – Variety of sizes (not any bigger than your rectangles)
  • Paper, stamps, ink, adhesives (tear tape, green glue, strong adhesive), cut outs, embellishments, ribbon, etc
  • Scoring Tool, Trimmer, Stampin’ Emboss machine

Directions:

  1. After scoring card base, cut away left quarter so you’re left with this:
No photo description available.

2. Fold up the bottom right quarter

3. Fold over the top left. You may need to trim a smidgeon here or there and force fold to even out the tri-layers. When all folded, burnish well.

4. Decorate!

Happy Stamping! Kelly

Day 2 – Peaceful Place

I love love the suite Peaceful Place that features the Peaceful Cabin bundle. The Peaceful Place 12 x 12 DSP is really pretty. (It’s not orderable until Dec 10th…so check back in my store on that day if you want it!)

Today’s projects are simple, easy, and elegant. Anytime you use black and white with a pop of red you automatically get a very elegant look. In addition to the DSP and stamps, I also used the gorgeous Real Red double-stitched satin ribbon, the Wonderful Snowflakes, and plaid red paper from the Peaceful Prints DSP from last summer’s Sale-A-Bration event. So pretty!

So so pretty! And easy. The only “fussy” part of any of these three cards was I embossed the “Be of Good Cheer” stamp in white. Otherwise, it’s all ink, paper, stamps. Perfect for a last minute holiday card!

The Peaceful Cabin stamp set, dies, and DSP are all retiring on January 3rd when the July-Dec Mini Catalog retires. You can see the full catalog of what is retiring (including some products discounted up to 50% off!) by visiting my online store. Or, download the files below to see the retired list and also the carryover list for what’s carrying over to the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog or 2022 July-Dec Mini Catalog!

Happy shopping, and stamping! Kelly

Day 1 – Happy Holly-Days

Welcome to 24 Days ’til Christmas post series! I hope I can keep up with posting each day during this very busy time. Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday and I’m excited to share projects with you daily from now until Christmas Day. I have a fun calendar planned ahead with “Dies Week” next week, “DSP Week” the week of Dec 12, and “Punch Week” the week of Dec 19. I will plan to resume Fun Fold Fridays and Case the Catalog Sundays, so look for those fun things throughout the month too. Without further ado, let’s get started!

Today’s project features the Happy Holly-Days Bundle shown on page 27 of the Mini Catalog. This bundle is under $40 and one that I think got missed in the shuffle the past couple of months. But it is a beautiful stamp set and a lovely holly border punch:

Here’s today’s project showcasing this bundle:

The border punch is so much fun to use – especially with the Red & Green Foil paper, and the stamps are amazing! I even love the stamp that’s a dotted line!

See you tomorrow! Kelly

Grateful for You

Happy Thanksgiving! Final day of my week of “why I’m grateful for Stampin’ Up!” and my gratitude today is for you: my readers, followers, team members, customers, and fellow Demonstrators. Stampin’ Up!’s mission is one of the reasons why I joined in 2003 and continue to be a Demonstrator today. It is a “statement of the heart” that states: To share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments…In this we make a difference.

Today’s card wasn’t made by me. It was made by my mother–the reason I’m a Demonstrator. In 1998 she was getting into Stampin’ Up! – attending a workshop pretty regularly and stamping. I wasn’t living at home then so didn’t know this was happening until one day I got a handmade card in the mail and it was the coolest thing I had ever seen. It didn’t look like a “Hallmark” card, and it was personal. I called my mom to thank her and my father got on the other phone (yes, landlines still existed) and butted in with: “Do you like the card your mother sent you?” I said “YES!” and gushed a bit. He said, “Well good, I’m glad you liked it. It cost about $1,000.” HA!!! Of course now, years and years later (with a house full of crafting supplies) this makes me laugh even more because I certainly get it.

And while we are a little bit better about “buying the whole catalog” (and me being a Demonstrator allows me the financial freedom to purchase much more than I ever would otherwise), it isn’t even about the cost. It’s about this card below, and all it represents. .

(Please ignore the hole at the top–it was on our board in the kitchen!)

She used the Festive & Bright Bundle, the Woodplank 3D embossing folder, retired plaid Stampin’ Up DSP and some ribbon from her stash. It is a WOW card and I’m so so proud of how far she has come in this craft since that very first card I received. She is a talented crafter, LOVES Stampin’ Up! and cardmaking (still! all these years later), and stamping with her is one of my favorite things in the world.

Thank you for caring about creativity and crafting and for following me on this journey. Note: I’m visiting my parents for the holiday and will be taking a few days off to spend time with them (and stamp with my mom, of course!) Be sure to hop back to my blog starting December 1st where we’ll be starting our counting down to Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! Kelly

Grateful for Coordination

One of the BIG reasons I’m so grateful for Stampin’ Up! products is that they coordinate. I love that a lot of the hardwork is done for me – the stamps, paper, and accessories are all meant to coordinate so you can dive right into creating and not spend a time with a color wheel, matching paper swatches, etc. LOVE!

For example, check out some of these cards make with the Peaceful Place Suite from the July-Dec Mini Catalog.

So stunning, yet so so simple thanks to Stampin’ Up’s coordination!

If you don’t have an entire suite, you can still achieve quick and beautiful cards using coordination by simply choosing a designer series paper pack and coordinating ink and cardstock. Voila!

Grateful to Share My Craft with Others

Today I’m grateful for Stampin’ Up! and my papercraft because it allows me to share and give to brighten someone’s day. I love love love this craft. And when I love stamping the most is when I get to share it with others. And I got to put this to practice today.

I serve on the Teacher Appreciation committee for my sons’ parent volunteer organization. For this holiday, the co-chairs wanted to give a homemade pie to every teacher in the school (75 total). I am a baker, but I find baking pies pretty frustrating…so I asked if instead of making X pies, could I make a special tag for on top of each? The co-chairs loved the idea and, well, here we are!

Here’s my tag making in action:

And here’s the tags and the pies display!

So much fun, and I’m so grateful to have been able to share my craft in this way.

Oh! And, of course the Sweets & Treats stamp set was PERFECT for this occasion!

SWEETS & TREATS PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET

I hope you can find a way to share what you love this holiday season.

Happy Stamping! Kelly
