Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop – Technique Challenge

The AWOW team and I are hopping today — here on our blogs, and on Instagram. Since today is Valentine’s Day in the US, this month’s challenge is to share the love of your favorite technique!. Grab a cup of coffee, and take a trip around the world with me to see what all of my global stamping friends have done with this challenge!

There are so many wonderful stamping and papercrafting techniques…it was hard to choose! For a group of my customers that have been in a monthly stamp club for 15 years, this year’s club is focused on techniques. So far we’ve done blending techniques, Kissing and gilded leafing techniques, and this month our club projects are focused on using reinkers for watercoloring and making different backgrounds. I could have featured any of those, but my top, favorite, technique in this craft that I absolutely love is anything that has to do with Designer Series Paper — my favorite Stampin’ Up! product. And, my #1 technique with DSP is to make a card that displays both sides of the paper. So, that’s what I’m sharing today.

As a Demonstrator, I have the good fortune of ordering product early before new product goes live to customers. March launches a new set of Online Exclusives, and the Little Latte Suite collection is AMAZING. Of course, it is all-things coffee so I immediately ordered it! This will be available March 1 to customers. Or, if you simply can’t wait (and you want a Glass Matt too!) go ahead and sign up to be a demonstrator or discount shopper…and you can start playing with this product right away! To learn more, visit my website, and signing up is so easy!

Take a look at what is in this gorgeous suite collection:

As mentioned, I love DSP techniques, especially those that feature both the A and the B side of sheets of this gorgeous DSP. Here’s a closer look at the first card:

Here’s the inside:

The card base is made with the DSP (measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4. Add a panel for the inside to make it sturdier, and decorate! EASY!

The second card uses a card bottom that measures 5 3/4 x 5 1/2 card panel, scored at 1/2″ and then you place a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of DSP on top and adhere to the 1/2″ tab of the cardstock bottom.

Here’s the inside:

Another lovely card that showcases both sides of the DSP. And, this designer series paper is gorgeous — you’ll want to show off both sides!

Now let’s see what my new Around the World on Wednesday friends did. Next up in the Hop is Sharon Hashimoto Burkert from the United States. You can click the next button below, or see all of the participants in the Roll Call.

  1. Two beautiful and “perk”y cards! It is always so special when you can see both sides of the DSP!
