Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop – March Blues

The AWOW team and I are hopping today — here on our blogs, and on Instagram. This month’s challenge is to make a project that is soft blue monochromatic using Stampin’ Up! blues: Boho Blue, Pool Party, Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight, Night of Navy. Grab a cup of coffee, and take a trip around the world with me to see what all of my global stamping friends have done with this challenge!

As mentioned, our challenge for this month is called March Blues and we were asked to use the softer “spring” blues in Stampin’ Up!’s offering:

Here’s my card:

I was immediately drawn to the Everyday Details bundle in the Jan-April Mini Catalog:

I think I was drawn to this because of the soft line images, and of course the eggs in the nest remind me of robin eggs. Let’s take a look at my take of this challenge:

Here’s the inside:

The DSP used on this card and on the envelope flap and inside of the card is called Poetic Expressions, also from the mini catalog. The card front is a quadruple layer with a Misty Moonlight base, Night of Navy layer, Boho Blue layer, and then the DSP layer. I then added the circles cut from the Everyday Details dies. Before adhering everything I stamped the DSP layer and the nest. The ribbon is Night of Navy from the annual catalog.

I loved this challenge, and love how my project turned out. Now let’s see what my friends around the world did with this challenge. Click the next button below to follow along to Sharon Hashimoto Burkert‘s blog, or follow along the hop using the Roll Call below.

  1. I love your creation Kelly. The blue eggs in the nest are a wonderful image to feature. Great way to layer them up and the background DSP is so pretty! xx

  2. Wow, I asked myself a lot of questions about blue eggs before making my card but this stamp is so wonderful for a creation in the style!
Bravo and thanks for sharing! xx
