Hello, miss me? It has been two full weeks since my last post. WHAT? Where the heck did the last half of June go? I’m excited to be back on here and today blog hopping with my Stamping with Friends Group. The challenge was a fun one: “create a card using strips of cardstock or dsp.” Ooooo…challenge accepted! I chose DSP strips (of course, you know my love of DSP)

I saw a card using this background technique on one of my Facebook groups (credit: Jackie McKnite from Stamp Junkies) and thought it would be perfect for this challenge. And it’s so easy!
On your base layer – I used Basic White cardstock – you mark 1/2″ marks on each side of your layer using a pencil and ruler — or your Grid Paper, it’s perfect for this! And you’ll also need a small stash of strips, in two colors.

Then, adhere your strips on the diagonal 1/2″ apart, using the tick marks on each side as a guide. NOTE: you want to lay down the color you want in the background first.

You’ll need to trim the sides off, and voila! Decorate the front however you’d like and you have a gorgeous card.

Be sure to hop along with my friends by using the Roll Call below. Happy July 4th everyone, and see you later in the week!
