For my US friends – hope you had a wonderful July 4th! I’m on the East Coast so the day is pretty much done. I spent much of the day in my craft room, then my family and I went over to my parents to celebrate my dad’s birthday. His birthday is July 6, but he’s a patriot through and through, and I always make him a red, white, and blue birthday card. Today I’m sharing two cards with you that I made this morning. The first is a card I made for my newsletter, but also wanted to make sure I posted here so it’s searchable and saved, and the 2nd is my father’s birthday card.
Card #1: Cheerful Daisies
This card uses the Cheerful Daisies bundle and I love how it turned out! This daisy cluster is perfect for July 4. If you didn’t add the leaves and cut off the top one, they could even look like firework bursts. The DSP makes this card. The Bright & Beautiful 6 x 6 DSP has wonderful star patterns, and the color packs (in this case Neutrals) patterns this year are terrific – love the polka dot pattern.
Card #2: Circle Sayings
For my father’s card (or America’s birthday card), I chose the Circle Sayings bundle because I loved the “celebrate” circle, and how can you go wrong with red, white, and blue cupcakes! A shaker is always a good idea, especially if you have themed shaker bits. I had these adorable silver, red, blue star shaker confetti in my stash. All of this paired with the Radiating Stitches Dies, and it’s all perfect! I LOVE how this card turned out.
(PS My apologies for the weird lighting — I kept getting a glare off the window sheet, so had to take the photo without extra light, so tried to brighten it up!) I love this card — and that cupcake is a perfect cupcake for so many occasions!
