Happy Sunday! Today’s CASEing the Catty Sunday challenge (#CTC427) is to case a die cut project from the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog. Since it’s “Christmas in July” week at The Late Night Stamper, I’m using the One Horse Open Sleigh designer series paper, a new Online Exclusive product, and pairing it with the Christmas Pinecone Dies. These are standalone dies that can be found on page 163 of the Annual Catalog. You may have these dies in your stash! Two holiday mini catalogs ago these dies were part of a mega suite that had Painted Christmas DSP, a bundle called Christmas Season, and a bundle called Christmas to Remember. so check your Christmas bin to see if you already have these! Finally, I’m using the new Nested Essentials dies and the stamp set called Brightest Glow. Let’s take a look at these products:

The die cut project I chose to CASE is on page 26.

When choosing a project, I started at the beginning of the book, and as soon as I saw this project, I knew it would make a beautiful Christmas card. Let’s take a look at my creation:

I LOVE how this turned out! Once again, so grateful that Stampin’ Up! gives us so much inspiration in their catalogs.
For the Pinecone dies — I should have used adhesive sheets, but forgot. No worries — if you have a silicone mat sheet, multipurpose glue, and a sponge, putting the layers together is so easy:

You squeeze out a little pool onto your silicon mat, then dap your sponge in the glue and dab on the back of your pieces. I have a binder clip on my sponge to make a “handle”. and see how gunky my sponge is? That’s because I’ve had this sponge for almost a year — it’s not a one and done. You can use it over and over again until it gets too sticky and needs to be changed out.
Here’s a look at the pinecone die cuts once I’ve layered them up, but before I cut them for the card:

To make the card, I simply snipped the big evergreen piece to make a few pieces to cover just the corners of the Nested Essential label. Note: I had some leftover, so you’ll see in that sprig made into another card later this week. I stamped the greetings – one in the center of the label, and one on white, fussy cut out, and layered on Real Red. Then I adhered everything using dimensionals and multipurpose glue and finally added some red “berries” using the red pearlized enamel effects.

All of this was layered on a piece of DSP from One Horse Open Sleigh 6 x 6 designer series paper pack.
Let’s take one more look:

Happy stamping! Kelly
