It’s the last Sunday of the month, which means it’s time to hop with my NC Demos group. You might have already stopped by Frances Wagner’s blog and know this month’s theme, but if you are just popping in this month we were challenged for our projects to be: “beachy, and feature light and cool colors like the Soft Subtles or the 2024-2026 In-Colors.” I chose not to go beachy or use the new In-Colors, but instead to use the old In-Colors (2023-2025). To me, these In-colors are more subtle and “beachy” than the new ones which are quite bright…maybe it’s the beach at sunset?!

Not sure this is what the Hop Host had in mind, but oh well — we’re going with it! Be sure to hop along to my fellow NC Demonstrators’ blogs to see more using the Roll Call below.
I have had the new Iconic Imagery Bundle and DSP sitting on my desk all week, so decided to play with that too. Let’s take a look at these products. You may not have seen them before — they are offered as an Online Exclusive through my Online Store. *By the way, you have to check out the Online Exclusives. There are new holiday items including gorgeous Christmas items as well as Halloween. Stampin’ Up announced they will NOT have Halloween product in the upcoming Mini Catalog — but there are some super cute things online!
Here is the Iconic Imagery Bundle:

And, here is the DSP:

Okay…so let me be a little more honest…I heard “beachy” and “subtle” and immediately grabbed this DSP. I don’t know why, but it was speaking to me!
If you follow me at all, you know Designer Series Paper (DSP) a.k.a. patterned paper is my FAVORITE Stampin’ Up! product. I’m getting ready to move my craft room from one room to another (more on that later) and in prepping for the move, I’ve been thinking long and hard about the product I’m holding on to. On August 8th I will celebrate my 21st year as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, and over two decades I have accumulated a LOT of stuff. I am going to be selling and cleaning out a ton. While I love all of it, and much of it holds special memories for me, I know who I am as a crafter: I like the NEW FRESH styles that are on-trend. To me, DSP sets the tone.
The other thing that’s happening while I edit and trim down my stash, is I’m thinking of other ways I can use product other than what it was intended for. Looking at Iconic Imagery (the bundle and the DSP) you might think “Christmas.” Well, I hope my “beachy, subtle” card sways you. And, my hope is that you too stretch your stash to work for you in other ways than originally intended.
Let’s take another look at my project:
The Outside

The Inside and Envelope
My mother is the QUEEN of decorating her envelope. Usually with a carefully stamped image that coordinates with what’s inside. I prefer to simply cover the flap with DSP that coordinates. 2″ x 6″ and voila! Done!

Now, let’s see what the others have done with these new colors! Click the next arrow below to hop over to our fearless leader Tracie Langley’s Blog.
