Let’s talk Halloween!

I’m not really a huge Halloween person. It was really fun when my kids were little, but we don’t deck out the house wildly, or get super into it now. I do like to put a few decorations around the house, and my 12 x 12 sampler in the foyer was a perfect spot to add a little Halloween fun.

Have you ever done a sampler? As my mom would say, it’s like 9 little card fronts. I have one for almost every holiday/season, but didn’t have one for Halloween (and believe it or not, I don’t have one for Christmas…stay tuned!) This sampler does include some retired Stampin’ Up® products, but I also used some current Halloween products including:

Here’s a close up of the squares:

Love it, and it was so much fun to make. Get out your stamps, paper, and ink and great creative today!

Kylie’s Demonstrator Training Program Blog Hop October 2021 | Joyful Life Customer Cards

I am so grateful for my customers. Thank you for viewing my creations, for your love and support, and for your business. I appreciate you! Starting this month I will be featuring a blog post each month (around the 10th or so) that shows what cards I’m sending out this month as thank yous to my customers for placing orders.

This month’s blog post featuring my Customer Cards is part of a Blog Hop through a Demonstrator training group I joined for this coming Stampin’ Up! year (October – September). We are a group of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators from around the world that are taking part in training that is helping us to build a successful Stampin’ Up!® business and reach some goals we have set. We really appreciate your support. So you can see my Customer Cards for the month, but you can also see my fellow demonstrators. We are so happy that you could join us today for this blog hop for ideas and creative inspiration.

You may be starting here or have come from another blog – either way you can find the link list at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea today.

My projects use the Joyful Life stamp set. I love this stamp set so much! Especially, the little big holding a pumpkin spice latte.

I’ve featured a few on my blog already, but here’s a project new to the blog. It’s a fun fold and features the adorable little hedgehog!

Isn’t she the cutest? I love that the greetings in this set aren’t tied to a holiday either. To me, Season’s Greetings in this stamp set, mean let’s greet the season of Fall. LOVE!!

Live in the U.S.? Order through me! thelatenightstamper.com/shop/

Customers that ordered Sept 10-October 10 will be getting one of these cards in the mail. Stay tuned for my post mid-November to see what the next Customer Card will be! Or–place an order in my store, and you’ll see one first-hand.

Casing the Catalog – Page 33 (Mini)

Where did the week go?? It’s Sunday and time to Case the Catalog. Remember “CASE” means “Copy and Share Everything” or “Copy and Selectively Edit.” Whenever I need to get some inspiration or not sure where to start with a project, the first thing I do is turn to my paper copy catalogs. I do NOT go to Pinterest, You Tube, Instagram because I’ve found when I do that I get sucked in and end up wasting some precious stamping time! That’s why I love the concept of CASEing. Find a sample you like, and make it your own!

Today’s CASE comes out of this card from page 33 of the July-Dec 2021 Mini Catalog:

And, here’s my card!

I love this stamp set called Clever Cats, and I really love the Picture This Dies:

Here’s a side view so you can see the dimensions – I popped up the entire Picture This layer, as well as the images and sentiments that extended into the negative space. TIP: when you are adhering a layer to the popped up section that extends into a the bottom layer (like the “Hey, Crazy Cat” or the broom) you’ll add a dimensional on the side adhering to the bottom layer, and liquid glue to the section you want attached to the popped up part. (clear as mud?! Ha!)

The best part about the Picture This dies? You get two cards out of one run through the Emboss & Cut Machine! Take the three stitched rectangle negatives, and make a 2nd card:

After all…two crazy cat Halloween cards is better than one!

Supplies used:

  • Stamp Set: Clever Cats
  • Dies: Picture This
  • Cardstock: Smoky Slate, Basic White, Basic Black, Cute Halloween 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper
  • Inks: Momento Black, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Versamark
  • Other: White Embossing Powder

Happy Stamping! Kelly

PS – I know the cat should be black, but I have a fat orange tabby. Meet Mr. Leo!

Happy Sunday! I’m working on a class using the Candy Cane background stamp (available through the July-Dec Mini Catalog):

CANDY CANES CLING STAMP SET
Candy Cane Background Stamp – $17

After making a stack of candy canes in different colors and on different papers and cardstock, I decided to use this for today’s Case the Catalog Post. Today my card is CASE’d from a card sample on page 13 of the Mini catalog:

Last Call for Sale-A-bration! Black and White with a pop

Last few hours of Sale-A-bration! It’s been a busy week so not too many posts this week, but wanted to do a quick post of two cards I made recently using the Sale-A-Bration Beautifully Penned 12 x 12 designer series paper. Black, white, gray, and a pop of Pumpkin Pie…and sunflowers!

This card uses the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set colored with Blends.

Here’s another one using the same colors:

Accessories used to add texture and exciting elements:

If you get to this post after tonight, you can replace the black and white paper with the black and white designer series paper called Pattern Party 12 x 12.

Case the Catalog Sunday – AC p. 43

Well, a little late tonight. Guess I’m living up to my name. Last night I hit my creative mojo around midnight and kept going, and I feel like tonight could be the same – except it’s a “school night” so off to bed for me.

It’s still Sunday, and here’s my “Case the Catalog” post for the week. Turn to your Annual Catalog, page 43 and I CASED the strawberry card. Here it is for those that don’t have a paper catalog:

By the way…if you don’t have a physical catalog, please contact me if you don’t have a Demonstrator and I’d be happy to mail you one. (And then you can be like me and drag it around wherever you go!)

Anyway, here’s my CASE:

Pretty, right? Now, you might be wonder where the pumpkins came from. There is a gorgeous bundle in the Mini Catalog called Pretty Pumpkins.

PRETTY PUMPKINS BUNDLE

The stamp set is a red rubber set of 8 with 5 images and 3 beautiful sentiments. The coordinating die set called Detailed Pumpkins and is a set of 10 – some dies cut out the 5 images and the other dies cut beautiful coordinating pumpkins and leaves. The colored pumpkins in my card are from the pumpkin image that is a cluster of 3 pumpkins and I fussy cut the two smallest.

And, my project features the beautiful Sale-A-Bration Designer Series Paper called Beautifully Penned. It is so pretty! You have until THURSDAY to shop Sale-A-Bration. For every $50 you spend, you get to choose a free product from the Sale-A-Bration offering. [Unfortunately, the Be Dazzling glitter SAB paper that is also on my project is no longer available…sad!] Be sure to place your SAB orders in the next few days!

Happy week and happy stamping! Kelly

It’s a Joyful Life!

This week I’m featuring the adorable stamp set called Joyful Life. Featuring this set kicked off this past weekend, but it’s time to introduce you to this lovely little stamp set.

Joyful Life is a cling stamp set (red rubber) and has 5 images and 4 sentiments. The images are line-art – perfect for coloring. The friendship greetings are sweet and cute, and mixed with these adorable woodland creatures doing fun things, they can be used all year long for birthday cards, thinking of you, or friendship cards.

Sunday I featured the little piggy at the top of my post. Here’s a card highlighting him in a Fall sort of way:

Can’t you just smell the Pumpkin Spice Latte??

Products Used:

  • Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, Cinnamon Cider, Basic White
  • Inks: Rich Razzleberry, Momento Black, Blends: Cinnamon Cider, Rich Razzleberry, Petal Pink, Crumb Cake (light)

Happy Stamping, Kelly

Case the Catalog Sunday – pg. 55

Hopefully yesterday you hopped along the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop. So much fun and the hop features some beautiful projects and all kinds of coloring techniques. Check it out if you haven’t!

In yesterday’s post, I mentioned not wasting the DSP layer behind the bear on the bike layer. The white layer is 5 x 3 3/4 and the DSP layer under it is 5 3/8 x 4 1/8. I knew almost all of that DSP was going to be covered, and didn’t want to waste it. I ran it through using the Picture This Dies and had three shapes to play with another time.

Using the catalog for inspiration, I found the card on page 55 that I thought would be great to use the 3 rectangle cuts from the DSP.

I stuck with using Joyful Life Stamp Set from the July-Dec Mini Catalog. (Actually, I’ll be blogging about this set all week…I love it so much!) and also using the Blackberry Beauty 12 x 12 DSP and the coordinating colors.

What do you think? I LOVE Rich Razzleberry, Blackberry Bliss, and Polished Pink together. Who knew? And…here’s a debut of the adorable little pig holding a coffee cup. SO CUTE (and coffee, of course!)

Stamping With Friends Blog Hop – Let’s Get Coloring!

The past three months I ventured out a little bit to team up with fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators and participate in Blog Hops. It has been so much fun! That group has ended, but being part of them let me to another Blog Hop group called Stamping With Friends (how appropriate) and the focus for this month is featuring coloring as a technique. You may have arrived here from Victoria Littlewood‘s blog. Beautiful coloring, right? Enjoy my post, and click the Next Blog image at the bottom of the post to keep “hopping” along to Tricia’s Blog (and the full line-up of all those in the blog can be found at the bottom of this post as well).

I chose the Joyful Life Stamp set because it is an adorable fall set, one of the stamps is a pig holding a cup of coffee (coffee of course!), and it screams “color me!”

Here’s my card:

Pretty simple, but in person, the coloring makes this card pop! I used Stampin’ Blends (my go-to coloring tool of choice these days):

  • Light & Dark Rich Razzleberry
  • Light & Dark Crumb Cake
  • Dark Misty Moonlight
  • Dark Balmy Blue
  • Ivory
  • Bronze
  • Light Smoky Slate
  • Light Mango Melody
  • Light Cherry Cobbler

Here’s a closer look at my coloring of the bear:

I added a little lines of Smoky Slate to just the right sides of everything to add some more shadowing too. Can you even see the little gray marks on the undersides of the leaves?

I am not an expert “colorer” but I really enjoyed using my blends on this card. So much, that I made a 2nd one! Only in the card below I used Light Sea Foam Green Blend instead of gray. Which do you like better?

Other products used on these projects:

  • Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Basic White, Crumb Cake
  • DSP: Blackberry Beauty 12 x 12 DSP (note, the piece behind the first card did not go to waste! Come back to my blog tomorrow to see what I did with the middle of what’s covered up by the Basic White layer), Cork Specialty Paper
  • Tailor Made Tags Dies, and Picture This Dies (you can’t see that right now…come back tomorrow!)
  • Embellishments: Gilded Gems, Gold 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon

I hope you enjoyed this post. Be sure to click on the image below to “hop” along to Tricia’s blog next on the blog hop!

Happy Stamping! Kelly

Beautifully Penned

Tonight I decided to open a pack of Sale-A-Bration DSP that I hadn’t opened yet. It’s the Beautifully Penned 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper and it is free with a $50 order. The paper is black and white and features 4 sheets of 3 different double-sided designs.

Here’s the darker side, paired with Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set:

And here’s the B side of the paper – the white side, again paired with Celebrate Sunflowers and Seasonal Labels Dies, and the black and white gingham ribbon.

I love gray and orange (and gray and lime green too!) and something about this paper screamed gray, white, and orange. Of course, I also had to add in a little bit of bling, and the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels were perfect.

Only 14 more days of Sale-A-Bration, and things are starting to sell out (like the Be Dazzling paper, sad!) so be sure to place your order(s) soon! If your order is under $50, use my Host Code!

If your order is over $150, do not use my host code. Sign up to be a demonstrator, or place your own workshop order so you can earn Stampin’ Rewards!

Happy Stampin! Kelly
