The countdown continues. If you’ve been watching my Countdown to Halloween series, you would have noticed I post two projects on Tuesday. The 2nd project was supposed to post yesterday – whoops! So maybe this Halloween week is making ME the crazy cat!
Today’s project features the Clever Cat stamp set, and some fun accessories.

Our countdown to Halloween continues! The projects I’m featuring today use the Festive & Bright Bundle to offer some “spooky” greetings!

I absolutely love the Cutest Halloween Bundle (featuring Cutest Halloween Stamp set, and the Halloween punch). The whole suite, called Cute Halloween, is just adorable. A star of the suite is the 6 x 6 designer series paper!
My project today features the little ghost in the bundle.
I stamped the ghost in black ink and then punched him out with the Halloween punch. I took strips of DSP, added a spider and a tag and of course my new favorite SU ribbon of all time–the black and white gingham!
The sentiment was stamped in Highland Heather and I didn’t have a label that fit it *just* right, and then I remembered the Messages Die. Have you seen this Die!? There are two large stamps that fit perfectly.
The specific label I used is circled in Coral above.
It’s a carryover from last year’s spring mini catalog, and I have NOT played with this enough. Maybe after Halloween week I’ll do a blog post exploring this a bit more.
Happy Sunday! For today’s edition of Case the Catalog Sunday, I’m actually playing along (for once) with the weekly Case the Catalog Sunday Challenge: CTC341 – Case Glittery/Sparkly Project and decided to make a glittery black cat using the cat punch and Stampin’ Up!®’s black glitter paper.
CTCS is a facebook group I belong to, and I usually just do my own case-ing of the catalog (close my eyes, open the book and point), but I think I’ll try to align with these folks. They issue a new challenge each week and give you the theme / page / point you in the direction of what to CASE so everyone’s on the same page. Love it!

PS – Today I’m kicking off a week of Halloween cards…tune in each day to see them all.
I’ve been participating in a weekly mystery stamping group and each week we learn a new fun fold. This card features a fun fold that I learned a few months ago stamping with this group, featuring the Harvest Meadow Suite of products. It’s not really a traditional “fun fold” but boy is it gorgeous–and a great way to use up scraps of designer series paper (DSP)!
The “fold” part create the chevron pattern using the DSP. Cut 5 strips of DSP each measuring 1″ x 2.5″. Fold each corner of the strips. THREE of the strips fold by taking the bottom corner to the opposite side on the RIGHT, turn the strip around and fold the same way. TWO of the strips fold by taking the bottom corner and folding to the LEFT. So your strips look like this:
Decorate your card front as you like, then you’re going to adhere these strips in a chevron style to the front of the card. Here’s an image of these strips laid out in a chevron pattern:
When you glue them, the ends are going to meet up, and it will fit across a layer measuring 4″ x 5 1/4″ – perfect for an A2 sized-card!

It’s CTCS! (Case the Catalog Sunday, if you’re new to my blog) Every Sunday I post a new card made fresh today that “CASEs” a sample project from a Stampin’ Up!® Catalog. [and if you’re not sure what CASE stands for: Copy and Share Everything OR Copy and Slightly Edit] Today’s project features Stampin’ Up!’s Pretty Pumpkins stamp set.
Today’s project was inspired by the card on page 114 of the AC (Annual Catalog…you’ll get used to these acronyms, I promise!) Here’s the card:

I used non-traditional pumpkin colors…guess they could be gourds…and colored with Blends? Calypso Coral even made it’s way in here. I love Calypso with the Soft Succulent – great combo!
And, let’s not forget about the inside! I decided to jazz it up and use the Rose paper on the inside (note: you need something on the inside to adhere the cutout from the front to).
For today’s card, I literally picked up the Annual Catalog, closed my eyes, opened it at random and pointed. What fun! Give it a try…I hope it sparks your creativity!
I’m not really a huge Halloween person. It was really fun when my kids were little, but we don’t deck out the house wildly, or get super into it now. I do like to put a few decorations around the house, and my 12 x 12 sampler in the foyer was a perfect spot to add a little Halloween fun.
Have you ever done a sampler? As my mom would say, it’s like 9 little card fronts. I have one for almost every holiday/season, but didn’t have one for Halloween (and believe it or not, I don’t have one for Christmas…stay tuned!) Where did the week go?? It’s Sunday and time to Case the Catalog. Remember “CASE” means “Copy and Share Everything” or “Copy and Selectively Edit.” Whenever I need to get some inspiration or not sure where to start with a project, the first thing I do is turn to my paper copy catalogs. I do NOT go to Pinterest, You Tube, Instagram because I’ve found when I do that I get sucked in and end up wasting some precious stamping time! That’s why I love the concept of CASEing. Find a sample you like, and make it your own!
Today’s CASE comes out of this card from page 33 of the July-Dec 2021 Mini Catalog:
Here’s a side view so you can see the dimensions – I popped up the entire Picture This layer, as well as the images and sentiments that extended into the negative space. TIP: when you are adhering a layer to the popped up section that extends into a the bottom layer (like the “Hey, Crazy Cat” or the broom) you’ll add a dimensional on the side adhering to the bottom layer, and liquid glue to the section you want attached to the popped up part. (clear as mud?! Ha!)
The best part about the Picture This dies? You get two cards out of one run through the Emboss & Cut Machine! Take the three stitched rectangle negatives, and make a 2nd card:
After all…two crazy cat Halloween cards is better than one!
