NC Demos Hop – Sketch It Out!

It’s the last Sunday of the month (how!?), which means it’s time to hop with my NC Demos group. You might have already stopped by Joanne Hewin’s Blog, but if you are just popping in this month our theme this month was to use a sketch from page 22 of the Annual Catalog or from page 12 of the January to April Mini Catalog to create a card or tag! I love this new feature of Stampin’ Up!’s catalogs, and hope they continue this in the new Annual Catalog this spring.

I chose the sketch circled here from page 22 of the Annual Catalog:

I’m using DSP strips from the Wildflower Birthday DSP. Let’s take a look at this paper — it is GORGEOUS.

And, because it so pretty, I want to be sure to use every scrap. This sketch is perfect for that. Let’s take a look at my card:

The circle is from the Stylish Shapes dies and the cake is from the DSP pack. You get 10 sheets of double-sided designs, some with party designs, some with all-purpose designs, and some with tags. You also get 2 sheets of ready-to-use die cuts, like the cake here. The sentiment is from the free Sale-A-Bration set called Day to Celebrate. This set is free with any purchase of $60.

Let’s take one more look at my card:

AWOW – Sketch Challenge with Bee My Valentine

The Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) team and I are hopping today — here on our blogs, and on Instagram. For this month’s challenge we are making projects using a sketch. Before I go on, let me first introduce the AWOW Team–here’s who we are and where we are in the world:

Now, let’s hop right in. Here is the sketch we were challenged to use:

And, here is my project:

Let’s take a look at the inside:

I used the Bee My Valentine stamp set, as well as the Cute as Can Bee DSP.

This is a re-colored DSP with a purple tint (using Petunia Pop) instead of the yellow and red colors from the first bee DSP release last year. And, there is a new bee bundle called Meant to Bee that has a fun new stamp set that also goes with the Bee Builder Punch and very fun hexagon dies.

These products are all part of the new scrapbooking line of products that Stampin’ Up! is offering. You have to check these out!

I also used the adorable Tiny Bee Trinkets on the white label. So cute!!

Now let’s see what my friends around the world did with this challenge. Click the next button below to follow along to Tricia’s Blog, or follow along the hop using the Roll Call Below.

Stamping with Friends – Blogger’s Choice – Friendly Seagulls

Today I’m hopping with my Stamping With Friends group and our challenge is “Blogger’s Choice” and the only requirement is to use current Stampin’ Up! products. I decided to take this as a chance to use the new Friendly Seaguls stamp set — a freebie in the Sale-A-Bration offering if you spend $60.

As always with a Blog Hop, be sure to hop along with us by checking out the Roll Call at the bottom of this post so you can carry through and see the other creations of my talented stamping friends.

NC Demos Hop – Let’s Sale-A-Brate Occasions!

It’s the last Sunday of the month, which means it’s time to hop with my NC Demos group. You might have already stopped by Laurie Meier’s Blog, but if you are just popping in this month our theme this month is “There’s always an Occasion to Sale-A-Brate!” and we were challenged to make a project that uses new product from the Sale-A-Bration catalog or Mini catalog that celebrates a special occasion: birthday, Easter, etc.

I chose to feature the Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Pick A Season. This stamp set is free with a purchase of $60, and it is PERFECT for this hop’s theme.

I loved the sample card in the brochure (shown above with the stamp set) so I CASE’d the card layout for my first card – an Easter Card:

The Easter eggs might be might favorite things about this set. Well, maybe it’s the shamrocks….so that led me to this card:

And then I thought, I better make a Valentine’s Day card:

And finally, I figured I might as well make a birthday card too with the roses!

I also used the Greetings for All Mix & Match Ephemera pack from the new Jan-April Mini catalog for all of hte greetings. This die cut greeting pack is $7 and comes with 6 total sheets: 2 each of 3 designs and a whopping 104 sentiments ready to use for your projects.

Here’s my Pick A Season, special occasion collection:

Now, let’s see what the others have done with new products! I’m at the end of the roll call, but click the next arrow below to start at the beginning with Tina Lesson’s Blog.

Snow in “Southtown” – Winter Bird’s Eye View

It’s a snow day here in Wilson, NC…a rarity in eastern North Carolina. We moved here in June 2020 and have only had one other snow in the four 1/2 years we’ve lived here. I love it. I miss seeing snow each winter…although, when we lived up north we didn’t feel that way!

Because it’s a snow day, I’m in my craft room making some cards – and started with this one: a challenge for a hop on Instagram where we were to make a card that features Frosted Florals or winter birds. I chose the latter because I immediately thought of Bird’s Eye View stamp set from Stampin’ Up! and wanted to bundle those birds up in some winter attire. Some items used are retired, and some are current that you can purchase in my online store.

This card uses a lot of retired items too:

    Snowman Magic
    Alpine Adventure
    Yeti to Party

These bundles are in my stash and are ones that I’ll never sell. They’re just too good! Have you shopped your stash lately??

Happy snow day and get crafty!

Stamping With Friends – Storybook Moments

Today I’m hopping with my Stamping With Friends group and our challenge is to create a project with product from the Jan-April 2025 mini catalog. I’m using the new Storybook Moments Suite Collection from the new mini catalog.

As always with a Blog Hop, be sure to hop along with us by checking out the Roll Call at the bottom of this post so you can carry through and see the other creations of my talented stamping friends.

    Here’s my card:

I love the designer series paper in this suite called Storybook Moments. It has two sheets of die-cuts that make matching ephemera like I’ve used here. The frame is a die from the Storybook Garden Patch bundle, and the ribbon is gorgeous too!

    AWOW – This or That

Happy new catalog! Stampin’ Up!’s January-April Mini catalog was live yesterday for customers, and it’s a fun time to celebrate new product. There are a bunch of new Online Exclusive products and Sale-A-Bration products too. YAY! Today I am hopping with my Around the World on Wednesday (AWOW) team — here on our blogs, and on Instagram. For this month’s challenge we are getting creative with a This or That Challenge where we were challenged to make TWO projects using product from the new Jan-Apr 2025 Mini Catalog, the newly released Online Exclusives, or Sale-A-Bration products. Before I go on, let me first introduce the AWOW Team–here’s who we are and where we are in the world:

I chose to CASE a project from the new Jan-April Mini Catalog (page 54 of the catalog) and use the new Marbled Excellence Suite Collection which is an Online Exclusive.

    Here’s the card I am CASE-ing:

I chose this project because you may be seeing online sample using Marbled Elegance Suite that are super intricate and/or are on the simpler side but use the DSP (which is gorgous…) I wanted to show you samples that were super simple. This is a great layout for that. Here are my two cards:

    THIS:

    THAT:

    Which one is your favorite?

    THIS OR THAT?

Stamping With Friends – Technique Hop – Step Card

Happy 2025 again! I’m back with my Stamping With Friends group and excited to be joining them twice a month in this year ahead. Today’s hop challenge is to create a step card. There are various step cards – faux step card, center step card, side step card, and triple step card (to name a few). I chose the Center Step fun fold card for my project and I’m using the new Storybook Moments Suite Collection coming out in the new mini catalog.

As always with a Blog Hop, be sure to hop along with us by checking out the Roll Call at the bottom of this post so you can carry through and see the other creations of my talented stamping friends.

    Here’s my card:

    Side view:

As mentioned, this card is using all new product from the upcoming January – April 2025 Mini Catalog using a suite collection called Storybook Moments. This suite will be available to customers on January 7th and it is so sweet!

    Center Step Fun Fold Directions:

    • Card Base: 5 1/2-8 1/2
    • Cut the slits:
      • On the short side (5 1/2″ side) line the cardstock up at 1 1/4″ mark on top of the trimmer and line up the marker on the blade at 1″ and cut down to 5 1/4″. Move the cardstock to the 4 1/4″ mark at the top of the trimmer and repeat the same cut lines as in the previous sentence.
    • Turn the cardstock on the long side (8 1/2″ side) for scoring placing your trimmer so the side with the lines are closest to the edge (as shown in photo below).
      • Line up the edge to the 1″ mark and score from the top to the first cut line, skip the section between the two cut lines, and then score from the 2nd cut line to the bottom edge of the cardstock.
      • Move cardstock to the 2″ mark and repeat (scoring only from the edges to the cut line, skipping the middle).
      • Then move cardstock to the 4 1/4″ and score ONLY in the CENTER, not on the sides.
      • Finally move your cardstock to the 5 1/4″ mark and score from edge to the score line. (Hopefully you can see all of the score lines in my photo below.
    • Fold! Starting on the first 1″ score line (if you’re looking at the photo above, it’s the left side), you want to fold the edge scores as a Peak, the 2″ line as a Valley, the center 4 1/4″ score line as a Peak and the 5 1/4″ line as a Peak.
    • The end! Decorate as you see fit! The great part about a step card, is you can have little images “pop” off the edge of the step, like I did with the bunny and the squirrel.

Here’s the card again. And, don’t forget to decorate the envelope!

Now, hop along using the links below. Happy stamping!

    Welcome 2025

Happy New Year crafty friends! I hope you had the most wonderful December, Christmas, New Year’s, and holiday season all-around. It is amazing how fast the last month has gone, and I have been enjoying every minute of our holiday break – soaking up family time with my oldest home from college, and, of course, MANY hours in my craft room.

2024 was a good year, and it is not lost on me how blessed I am to be able to say that. I know so many, especially in my stamping community, that have had a really hard year. I’m so grateful for all of my blessings, and especially grateful for this corner of the internet — a positive, happy place full of virtual stamping friends. If you are one of my customers, followers, and/or crafty friends, thank you for your love and support.

For this year’s New Year’s card, I’m of course using the brand colors of The Late Night Stamper:

And, let’s not forget my signature icon: the coffee cups!

This project uses mostly retired Stampin’ Up product. Sentiments are from the retired Cheers to That Bundle, and the numbers are from Playful Alphabet dies. I’m using the mini coffee cups from the current Latte Love dies and the Sketched Plaid background stamp. The layout is from a CASE from a project in the new upcoming January-April Mini catalog. That catalog goes lives January 6…so check back to my Online Store on that day, or contact me for a catalog. Note: in 2025, you will be seeing a lot of retired product used — and maybe even some non-Stampin’ Up! brands. Everyone I know that stamps has a ton of product in their stash, and this year I hope to inspire you to pull it out and put it to use! More to come….

Cheers to a craft year ahead!

    Happy stamping! Kelly

    NC Demos Hop – It’s a Gift!

It’s the last Sunday of the month, which means it’s time to hop with my NC Demos group. You might have already stopped by Laurie Meier’s Blog, but if you are just popping in this month our theme this month is “It’s A Gift” and we were challenged to make a project that can be easily mass produced or can be a unique special gift for someone.

I chose to use the adorable little gift bags that are sold as part of the Marbled Excellence Suite – a new Online Exclusive just released.

I decorated the gift bag with two 3 1/4 x 3 1/2 pieces of DSP and then added a bag topper — using the oldie but goodie retired Top Note Die. Does anyone else still have this in their craft room and use it on the regular? It is one of my favorite product….all these years later! I also added a sentiment and Christmas tree from the Decorative Tree Bundle — also a favorite of mine this season!

    Here’s the front:

    And, here’s the back:

Simply adorable! These little gift bags come in two sizes — I used the smaller size — and 16 in total in the pack. A very very quick and easy gift that you could easily mass produce!

Now, let’s see what the others have done with these new colors! I’m at the end of the roll call, but click the next arrow below to start at the beginning with Tina Lesson’s Blog.
