Howdy! Hope you had a lovely Christmas and holiday season. After a month of busy, I am taking some time this week to rest and recharge, and that means time in my craft room! I learned a little bit ago that today is National Candy Cane Day. Who knew that was a thing?! So to celebrate, I of course reached for my new Gnome Dies:
Here’s my card:

Let me explain a little. First, I absolutely love all the gnomes that are out there these days, and over the years have started to build up a little collection. Most of my gnomes are Christmas themed. Here’s my little collection in my kitchen:

Aren’t they so cute!?
Here’s a non-holiday one in my stamp room: a birthday gnome, a gift from my husband last year:

So when Stampin’ Up! came out with the Gnome Dies this July-Dec Mini Catalog, I wanted to get them right away. But, I wasn’t so sure about the coordinating stamp set, and also didn’t want to invest in them if they were going to retire after December. Well. Then I saw the upcoming new Jan-April spring mini catalog that starts on January 5th and there is a SPRING gnome set! SOLD! I ordered the new set in my pre-order and also ordered the current bundle to get the extra discount. Sadly, that bundle is now sold out (the Kindest Gnomes stamp set is gone), but the Gnome Dies are still available and are carrying over so you can enjoy them with the new spring set coming out January 5th called Friendly Gnomes.
To make this card, I only used the Gnome Dies. The sentiment is from the retired (and also sold out!) Penguin Place stamp set. Since today is National Candy Candy day, I wanted to have a little fun with a candy cane. The candy cane is from the Sweetest Christmas DSP cut out with the Candy Cane Dies (still available and on sale!) Here’s a close-up of these sweet gnomes:

I love these dies, and so glad I have them in my collection.

Well, one Christmas thank you card done…quite a few more to go. More tomorrow!
Happy National Candy Cane Day! Kelly
