Stamping With Friends – Window Sheets

Happy Hot Saturday! It is hot in eastern North Carolina…which means I’m spending my holiday weekend in my craft room. Today I’m blog hopping with my Stamping With Friends group and we are focusing on all-things Window Sheets. As always with a Blog Hop, be sure to hop along with us by checking out the Roll Call at the bottom of this post so you can carry through and see the other creations of my talented stamping friends.

I chose the Citrus Blooms bundle because I’m feeling hot and summery, and when I first think of Window Sheets, I think Shaker cards. Let’s take a look:

For this card, I used greens and orange. I didn’t take a photo of this before assembly (darn!) but, hope I can explain. I wanted to just use the leafy frame as the top of my shaker but wasn’t sure how to then add my foam strips to keep the shaker bits in without having the foam show through the window. So I used the three dies circled here:

  1. Out of Garden Green cut a big leafy frame using the big outer frame (unmarked) and big leaf frame (marked 1) from the Citrus Bloom dies simultaneously.
  2. Out of Window Sheet, cut a big frame (unmarked).
  3. Out of Soft Sea Foam, cut a large frame (unmarked) with the middle cut using the leaf sprig (marked 3)

Then, you’ll adhere these by first gluing the Garden Green onto the Window sheet – careful with your liquid glue not to put too much because you don’t want it oozing out and showing through. Then adhere that to the Soft Sea Foam layer. Then, add your foam strips to the back of that layer, add your shaker bits, and adhere to your card front. Let’s take a closer look:

I cut the oranges using a die from the die set directly out of the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper, and then added a sentiment from the Citrus Blooms stamp set. The sentiment is stamped in Pumpkin Pie onto a label from the Thoughtful Expressions dies. I decorated an envelope with more DSP:
