SWF – Bee My Valentine

Today I am back with my Stamping With Friends group and our blog hop theme today is showcasing the new Jan-April Mini catalog. It’s Valentine week…so I’m keeping in that theme and from my blog yesterday and showcasing the Bee Mine Suite of Products and the Bee My Valentine Bundle. As always with a blog hop, you’ll want to “hop along” to the next stamper to see her amazing projects. Click the Next button in the Roll Call below.

My Projects:

I made a gift box and a card, let’s take a look:

Let’s take a closer look at the card:

Here is the inside:

I chose a card layout that really showcases the Bee Mine designer series paper. This paper is wonderful!

These papers are so sweet. I cut love the yellow plaid, and used that for the tag (cut with the Tailor Made Tags dies). I also love the little bees and cut one out of the patterned paper here instead of using the bee stamps.

So cute!

Now let’s look at the little treat box:

Again, I let the DSP do the work. I used the bee body of the punch to make a word bubble, and stamped and cut a Pool Party heart (punched out using the punch). These Square Pillow boxes are part of the Suite bundle as is the Sweet Sorbet 1/4″ Bordered Ribbon. Love!! So cute, and so easy.

Blog Hop time!

Looking forward to seeing what products my friends are working with in their projects in today’s Blog Hop Challenge. Be sure to click “Next Blog” below in the Roll Call!

Happy Stamping! Kelly

Spreading the Love – Week 1: Bee My Valentine Sentiment

Happy Friday! I’m joining in a hop on Instagram for Valentine’s Day that kicks off today. A bunch of papercrafters (not just Stampin’ Up!) are gathering together to spread the love on the social media every Friday today through the end of February. To kick us off for week 1, the theme is Sentiment.

I immediately thought “BIG” letters and Valentine-y colors. I grabbed the Bee My Valentine bundle and the Alphabet a la Mode dies and got started. Here’s my card:

And, here’s the inside:

So cute!! I love this bee stamp and bundle. The background is heart patterned paper from a free DSP pack offered in Sale-A-Bration called Most Adorned. This paper is so pretty – the A side is gold-foiled and the B sides are different patterns like this one. Quick question: When you have papers like this in your stash, do you feel badly about gluing the foiled side? I do! But, this heart pattern is so much fun…

Have a great Friday, and happy stamping! Kelly

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop – Sketch Challenge

The AWOW team and I are hopping today — here on our blogs, and on Instagram — and this month’s challenge is to use a sketch for inspiration. Grab a cup of coffee, and take a trip around the world with me to see what all of my global stamping friends have done with this challenge!

Here is the sketch for this challenge:

Here is my interpretation of this sketch:

Simply Sparkling is a very fun new bundle offered by Stampin’ Up!. This bundle is one of their Online Exclusives and is full of amazing images and dies. The stamp set has 21 (!) images and greetings, and the Dies are a set of 17 dies. WOW! Let’s take a look at these products:

I created a reference sheet for this bundle. I keep a binder of sheets like this to use as reference guides — especially for bundles with some many pieces and images.

I LOVE the fruit in this bundle…and with a new addiction to seltzer (it isn’t the same as diet coke…but better for me!) I thought this was super fun.

Let’s take a closer look at my project:

The can and peach are colored with Stampin Blends and colors used in this project are Balmy Blue and Petal Pink. The DSP used are the 6 x 6 Subtles DSP pack from the Annual Catalog, the Three Color Glimmer paper offered as an Online Exclusive, and a pattern from Sunny Days 12 x 12 — a free pack of patterned paper offered as part of Sale-A-Bration. Add a pop of silver with the foil (retired) and simply elegant trim and you have a square whimsical card. Shop the supplies below!

Here’s the inside of the card:

Try this sketch out! You’ll love it — it is super fun!

Now let’s see what my new Around the World on Wednesday friends did. Next up in the Hop is Shel Anderson from Canada. You can click the next button below, or see all of the participants in the Roll Call.

Happy Stamping friends! Kelly

What’s Old Is New Again – Planted Paradise

Today I am back with my Stamping With Friends group and our blog hop theme is What’s Old is New Again. The challenge is to recreate an old past project using current items from either catalog (annual/mini/sale-a-bration). As always with a blog hop, you’ll want to “hop along” to the next stamper to see her amazing projects. Click the Next button in the Roll Call below.

I decided to recreate the “window card” posted on January 23, 2023 using new products from the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog and new paper from Sale-A-Bration. Here is the old card from last year:

Here’s my new card:

Planted Paradise is a new Reversibles stamp set in the Jan-Apr Mini Catalog. I got this stamp set for free by participating in a Demonstrator Event last June — just another perk of being a Demo! Sale-A-Bration is a wonderful time to sign up as you get even more in your start-up kit! For more information, click here.

Let’s take another look at the card with matching envelope and card inside:

These colors are also a nice break from the last month of stamping holiday projects!

Blog Hop time!

Bling in the New Year!

Happy New Year’s Eve! In addition to New Year’s Eve, it’s also the last Sunday of the month…which means time to hop with my NC Demo Friends. The theme for this month’s NC Demos’ Blog Hop is “Bling on the New Year” and our project could be anything, but it had to have bling. Yes, please!! As always with a blog hop, you’ll want to “hop along” to the next Demonstrator to see her amazing projects. Click the Next Button below to see a project from the talented Tina Lesson  or follow along using the Roll Call below.

For my project, I decided to use the More Dazzle 6 x 6 Specialty Paper in the Annual Catalog as well as give you a sneak peak at new products: the Rock & Roll Suite Collection coming out in the 2024 Jan-April Mini Catalog (available for purchase starting January 4) and a new Sale-A-Bration product (free with $50 purchase also starting Jan 4): the Most Adored 12 x 12 Specialty Designer Series Paper. I can’t show you the full images of these products, but you can see them in action below (along with a photo of the new Stampin’ Up Glass Mat — a MUST have in every craft room, and FREE to you during Sale-A-Bration if you join my team. Contact me if you’d like more information!)

Bling On the New Year!

Here’s my card:

And, here’s the inside:

Let’s talk about the card front. I used a stamp and dies from the Rock Star Bundle. (You can see these products in this photo of my workspace …and there’s the Glass Mat!)

I also used sentiments from Biggest Wish (Annual Catalog) and More Wishes (2023 Sept-Dec Mini Catalog — but carrying over!) I LOVE these sentiment sets and definitely do not use them enough. I also used a New Year’s sentiment from the Throughout the Year stamp set. This is also in the current mini catalog, but will be staying on as an Online Exclusive project (love!!) Here’s a pic of these three must-haves for your craft room:

Biggest Wish
More Wishes
Throughout the Year

(To purchase these, you can click right on the image and it will take you to my Online Store.)

The microphone was colored using Smoky Slate and Black Blends. As mentioned, I also used the More Dazzle specialty DSP. This paper is bling to the max and I love it!

I used it on the background of the card front (silver) and the little stars and lighting bolts (gold). Don’t worry…I was not going to waste the part that was covered up by the card front design! I used a new die coming out in the Jan-Apr mini called Perennial Postage to cut out the center and I’ll save that for another project. (TIP! Make sure you do this with any of your layers to save paper!)

The card base is Smoky Slate cardstock, and the other DSP on the front is from the Rock & Roll DSP (black) and the Most Adored DSP from Sale-A-Bration (the white piece with gold hearts). Here’s a pic of that DSP:

Isn’t it pretty!? I’m so glad I got to show all of these sneak peaks with you, and can’t wait for the customer order period to open. Only a few more days! Need a catalog? Email me!

Let’s take on more look at my card:

Now, let’s Hop!

Just Bee Cause

You might remember seeing the new bee builder punch and Bee My Valentine stamp set I showed on a previous blog, as a Christmas idea. Today I’m hopping with some of my NC Demo friends for a special-edition NC Demo Blog Hop featuring the cards we made as part of a swap using the upcoming new Bee Mine Suite that will be available to customers in the new Jan-Apr mini catalog that goes live on January 4. As always with a blog hop, you’ll want to “hop along” to the next Demonstrator to see her amazing projects. Click the Next Button below to see a project from the talented Tracie Langley  or follow along using the Roll Call below.

Let’s Take a Look at My Card:

I used a pocket card fun fold that I got the design from Karen Titus, and made one horizontal and one vertical.

Here’s a closer look at the Horizontal version:

And, let’s take a look at the Vertical version:

These pocket fold cards are great, because as you can see, the Designer Series Paper does all the work! And the DSP in this Suite is darling. It is 12 x 12 and features bee patterns, florals, hearts, honeycomb, plaid, and stripes, and one design has little honey jars. So cute! Colors in this Suite are: Basic Black, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Petal Pink, Pool Party, and Sweet Sorbet.

Instructions:

Here are measurements and directions for this card:

Card Base: is flat, measuring 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 (or the other way if you want vertical). You can add a DSP layer like I did that measures 5 1/4 x 4.

Mini card: cardstock back – 4 1/4 x 3 1/4. DSP piece that measures 8 x 3. Fold the DSP piece in half and adhere to the cardstock panel

Pocket: cardstock (same color as card base) – 3 1/2 x 3 1/2, DSP layer (same pattern as DSP layer on card base) – 3 1/4 x 3 1/4. You’re going to cut these on the diagonal, corner to corner. Note: this will make two pockets, so you can make too cards!

Now, let’s Hop!

As always, I’m so grateful to you for stopping by. Now, let’s see what the others have done with the Bee Mine Suite of products! Click the next arrow to hop over to Tracie Evans Langley’s blog!

Vertical Wiper Card

Today I am participating in the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop group and our theme this week is “Wiper Cards.” I’ve only seen wiper cards on the horizontal, but this version of a wiper card is vertical. Be sure to check out the Roll Call at the bottom of this post so you can carry through and see the other creations of my talented stamping friends!

First, let’s check in because it’s been a hot minute. Who’s suffering from whiplash from this fast fall calendar? It’s December! I’m actually almost finished with my Christmas shopping and decorating, but behind in sharing Christmas projects with my crafting friends. Alas…if only we could craft all day and all night long. I love participating in Blog Hops (in case you haven’t noticed 😊) because they give me a reason to prioritize my Blog. I post projects on Instagram more regularly, so if you haven’t already, be sure to follow me there. That said, sometimes I feel like a card needs a little more attention, explanation, and directions — so I’ll post on here. I also pin my projects on Pinterest and share to my Facebook page. Lots of content everywhere, and no matter where you go to look to be inspired, I hope you follow me to add to your inspiration.

Here’s my Vertical Wiper Card:

This is the card closed. Then when you open, the “wiper” is activated and another bear pops up!

Do you see the polar bear in the sweater pop up!? SO cute! Here’s a look from above so you can see the mechanism:

To add a place to write a message and sign the card, I decorated the back.

The images are all cut from the Beary Christmas 12 x 12 designer series paper.

I’ll Have a Pink Christmas

Happy Sunday Friends! It’s the last Sunday of the month, and I’m hopping tonight with my NC Demos group. The theme for this month’s NC Demos’ Blog Hop is “I’ll Have a Pink Christmas.” And extra bonus points if we used a non-Christmas stamp set. As always with a blog hop, you’ll want to “hop along” to the next Demonstrator to see her amazing projects. Click the Next Button below to see a project from the talented Tracie Langley  or follow along using the Roll Call below.

For my Pink Christmas card, I used a new product coming out the Jan-Apr 2024 Mini Catalog called Bee Mine Suite.  I’ve been using this suite for a swap I am in, to get ready for a Christmas stamping event I’m having in December, and just to have fun and take a break from holiday projects. So, I thought “why not?” when I was thinking of what to use for this Blog Hop.

Let’s Bee Pink…and Merry!

Let’s take a look at my very non-traditional, and whimsy, Pink Christmas card:

Is this the cutest!? As mentioned, I am LOVING the Bee My Valentine stamp set and Bee Builder Punch. It’s making the cutest cards (can’t wait to show you them!) I added a Santa hat to make him a Christmas bee — so he can spread Christmas cheer with his “Bee Merry” message!

The Santa hat came from the Sending Cheer dies. I used the smaller of the two dies that make white fluff, the little fluff ball, and the hat:

These dies are amazing and are retiring soon, and on sale for only $21! A steal for 18 dies. The also coordinate with the Sending Cheer stamp set — also retiring and on sale for $14…Shop my store today to get these for your collection.

The hat was a little too big for my bee, so I simply traced 1/8″ line inside the edge and cut it out — it fit perfectly!

The pinks used are Petal Pink (card base), Flirty Flamingo (bee lines and layer behind the words) and Sweet Sorbet (kinda pink?) merry letters and hat. Let’s take another look at this card:

As I was making this card I was inspired to make a similar card design, but this time saying “Oh Christmas Bee” instead of “Oh Christmas Tree!” Take a look:

I love these cards, and love the bee. You’ll be seeing more of this in the coming weeks. Hope you like my non-traditional Christmas cards.

Now, let’s Hop!

As always, I’m so grateful to you for stopping by. Now, let’s see what the others have done with this challenge! Click the next arrow to hop over to Tracie Evans Langley’s blog!

Stamping With Friends Blog Hop – Anything Christmas

Happy Saturday friends! Thanksgiving week is upon us, and my craft room is switching over to Christmas full-time and I’m loving it! Today I’m blog hopping with my Stamping With Friends group and the theme is “Anything Christmas.” You may have arrived here from the talented blog of Jana Secord. Enjoy my post, and click click the Next Blog button at the bottom of the post to keep “hopping” along the roll call.

I chose the Merriest Trees bundle (which is a new favorite):

For inspiration used this card sketch:

Here is my first card:

The DSP was an online exclusive called Shining Christmas and has a little glare, so here’s another view:

I decided to make the same card, but in green!

And, here’s another view of this card:

The best part about these cards? They came together super quickly. Every year I say in June “I’m going to start now on Christmas projects!” But, alas…reality is I really can’t work on Christmas projects until it’s closer to the holiday. So, if you’re like me and time is short to get things done, quick projects are a necessity.

I hope you enjoyed this post. Be sure to click on the image below to “hop” along to the talented Tricia Butt’s blog next on the blog hop!

Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop – Color Challenge

The AWOW team and I are hopping today — here on our blogs, and on Instagram — and this month’s challenge is a color challenge. Grab a cup of coffee, and take a trip around the world with me to see what all of my global stamping friends have done with this challenge!

For this color challenge, all we were given was this image:

Such a pretty photo, and I love Paris… These colors reminded me of the 2023-2025 In-Colors. I see all 5 of the new In-Colors in this — Copper Clay (the leaves), Pebbled Path (the Eiffel), Wild Wheat (the leaves), and Moody Mauve and Boho Blue as part of the group of houses/train station at the bottom. Here are those colors:

I could have taken a more literal route and chosen the beautiful DSP from the All About Autumn Suite. When I first saw this photo, these papers are the very first thing I thought of:

The only thing is, this paper is not currently available and I wanted to go into my stash and see what I had / could come up with. I immediate found the Ringed With Nature bundle and thought that would do well – mainly because the mushrooms look very “french!”

Here is my card:

I used Pebbled Path as my base, and a Pebbled Path piece of DSP that reminded me of the lines on the Eiffel Tower. I like how this turned out – simple, not too involved, so a quick and easy card with just stamps, ink, and paper. And, I like how I pushed myself out of the obvious!

Let’s see what my new Around the World on Wednesday friends did. Next up in the Hop is Shel Anderson from Canada.

Happy Stamping friends! Kelly
